chinatown west

on wednesday, i spent the afternoon exploring chinatown. while it reminded me of new york's downtown neighborhood, this one seemed (and is) much, much larger. it was teeming with people, however, and that again, is another reason i found the two places similar.
the older signage is evidence of the neighborhood's long and established history.
both cities have smells (good and bad) and treats (also, good and bad...think fish flakes at munchies paradise).
san francisco and new york both have chinatowns near bridges.

that was always my favorite place in SF (besides golden gate park). i'm just kicking myself for not giving you the address of the best little cookie shop in chinatown. they have these sesame and almond cookies that are little little orbs from heaven.

you lucked out with the weather, too. looks beautiful.
