Elephancy
A recent trip to an exhibit of the original sketches and watercolors from the Babar books, at the Morgan Library, astounded me. The images were so simple, with black outlines, vibrant primary colors and soft grays, but touchingly beautiful.
Before being reprimanded for taking photos (and then not-so-subtly tailed), I captured a few of my favorites. They really have to be seen in person to be properly appreciated, though. Even if you don't have a child to bring, remember what it was like when you were one, and go now.
